The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday reported the arrest of an alleged Briton pedophile who victimized Filipino women and children in Dumaguete City.
BI Commissioner Marcelino Libanan identified the arrested foreigner as Richard Holden, 39, who was nabbed by BI intelligence operatives last Oct. 16 in his residence along Boulevard Avenue, Dumaguete City. Holden was later brought to Manila and is presently detained at the Bicutan immigration jail pending deportation proceedings.
According to Libanan, he issued the mission order for Holdens arrest after he was informed that the Briton had impregnated at least four Filipina girls within the two-year period that he had stayed in the country. He said he was so alarmed by the activities of the pedophile that he immediately dispatched a team of BI agents to Dumaguete to arrest the Briton.
According to BI intelligence chief Faizal Hussin, Holden allegedly enticed the girls to have sex with him after making false promises of financial support and but stopped communicating with them after they got pregnant.
Hussin said the Briton was also frequently seen stalking Filipina girls in the parks, schools and shopping malls of Dumaguete City and secretly taking pictures of them using his mobile phone. The BI also obtained a CD containing the said pictures and video footages of his sexual intercourses with some of the victims, he added.
Members of the arresting team reported that Holden had refused to present his passport or immigration documents to the arresting agents. At present, his case is being heard by BI special prosecutor Cris Villalobos of the bureaus law and investigation division.
