The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday announced the arrest of a suspected British pedophile that had allegedly victimized several young girls in the province of Negros Oriental.
BI Intelligence agents apprehended the Briton, 39-year-old Richard Holden, at his residence along Boulevard Avenue, in Dumaguete City on October 16.
Holden, who is now detained at the Immigration detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City was arrested on the basis of a mission order issued by Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan.
The immigration chief in a statement said the mission order was issued following reports that the Briton had impregnated at least four Filipina girls during his two-year stay in the country.
Libanan said that he was alarmed by the reported activities of the suspected British pedophile, which prompted him to issue a mission order, and dispatched a team of BI agents.
BI Intelligence chief, Faizal Hussin, said the Briton allegedly enticed the girls to have sex with him with promises of financial support, which he did not honor after getting the girls pregnant.
The BI Intelligence chief added that Holden was frequently seen stalking young girls in parks, schools and shopping malls and also secretly taking pictures of them in Dumaguete City.
Hussin added that when the Briton was arrested, their agents were also able to obtain a CD that contained pictures and video footages of his sexual intercourse with his victims.
Members of the arresting team also reported that Holden had refused to present his passport or immigration documents to the arresting agents, the BI intelligence chief added.
The British pedophile is presently undergoing summary deportation proceedings for being an undesirable alien under BI Special Prosecutor Cris Villabos of the bureau's law and investigation division.
